- The Diocese of Huron is hosting General Synod 2025 this summer, Monday June 23 to Sunday June 29. Events and activities will be held at St Paul's Cathedral and the RBC Place (London Convention Centre.) The Local Arrangements Committee is looking for volunteers to help welcome and look after the delegates and guests. There are lots of different jobs to be done and many time slots available.

The Diocese of Huron AFP are sorry to announce that Bishop Todd is unable to be the speaker at this year's Conference as planned. Please keep him in your prayers. Instead of cancelling, we have arranged to share in some different ancient and modern prayer practices as a way of "Communicating with God". (From the program REVIVE.)
- The Essex Deanery Lay Leadership Training Classes: Lay leadership courses for 2025 and early 2026.
These classes will be held in person at Canterbury College. Classes are from 10:00 am - 2:30pm with 30 minutes for lunch.
We have partnered with Canterbury College for the courses and they are providing us with the technology support to also bring the classes by zoom. Please join us for one or for all of the classes.
This year we have decided to focus on the core subjects.

Huron University's Licentiate in Theology Program offers a trio of Parish Administration courses to both equip and inspire lay leaders in their ministry roles.
Conveniently hosted over three Saturday sessions, these courses can be taken separately, or together. Upon completion of all three Saturday sessions, participants will earn a Certificate in Parish Administration and Leadership from Huron's Faculty of Theology.
As these courses have been sponsored by the Anglican Diocese of Huron, all participants from the Diocese of Huron are able to register free of charge!

- ENTER THE QCEC 2025: Royal Commonwealth's Society's Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition.
This year's theme of the Competition is Our Commonwealth Journey. Students are asked to select one of four topics on which to write a creative submission. This is not an academic essay. Students are encouraged to write down their own individual and authentic thoughts. Poetry, storytelling, and fiction are encouraged.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:
DAILY BREAD COORDINATOR – GRACE ANGLICAN CHURCH, BRANTFORD
• Responsible for seeing that weekly nutritious meals, appealing (and cost effective) are served.
• Ensures everyone is treated with dignity and compassion.
• Creates menus for the following month and makes lists of staple items needed.
• Writes up weekly lists for purchase of fresh vegetables.
• Must be very conscious that a sanitary environment is maintained to make and serve the meals.
• Must hold a food handler certificate.
• Responsible for maintenance of equipment i.e. stoves, frig, slicer; repairs as needed.
• Ensure every shift have a person with a food handler certificate present.
