Huron Farmworkers Ministry is looking for a Seasonal Outreach Service Delivery Associate. We are looking for  a self-starting, Spanish-speaking individual to join our team who has a passion for helping others.

The Huron Farmworkers Ministry presently serves over 5,000 migrant farmworkers in Norfolk, Oxford, and Brant counties who come each year to work in our local farming industries. We provide education and referral services regarding benefits, rights and responsibilities while in Canada. We also provide translation services to both our clients and the farmers. We offer a centre in Delhi, Ontario for: weekly gatherings: social interaction; meals; WIFI access; assistance from our staff; free PPE; donated clothing etc.

In addition to working in the Delhi Centre, the position also involves farm visits to provide migrant farmworkers with information and support as required. Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday you will assist in the preparation and serving light meals and refreshments as well as converse with our clients and help assess their needs.

There is a possibility of travel throughout Southern Ontario – clothing donation, supply pick up, etc. This position must also be available to assist senior staff as required. Schedules will vary as required with a minimum of 30 hours work week. Some weekend work may be required. Contract commences May to November 2023. 

A driver’s license and a car are required. Mileage is paid monthly for all outreach related travel. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Required skills:

  • Fluent in Spanish/ English
  • Previous experience working with Migrant Workers
  • Excellent oral and writing skills

  • Team oriented
  • Attention to detail
  • Average to above average skills in Outlook, Excel, Word & Power Point

Additionally, the following would be an asset

  • Fluent in French
  • Familiarity with social media
  • Website creation and maintenance
  • Accounting
  • Public Relation and marketing knowledge
