In responding to our Bishop's Charge of seeking to be a Learning Church, the Diocese of Huron is pleased to share that it has entered into a Diocesan Subscription service with Huron University's Licentiate of Theology Program.

This subscription allows for any student in the Diocese of Huron to register, free of charge, as either an auditor or a for-credit student in any of the LTh courses hosted in the 2025-2026 academic year.

New or returning students can register through Huron's LTh website: https://huronu.ca/programs/theology/life-long-learning/ and select the "Subscription Service" option in the online registration portal.

This new partnership hopes to enable even more people in our Diocese to explore their vocation and calling to serve through the theological education pathways that are bringing students across the country together in their passion for lifelong learning.

Huron University offers three new LTh courses starting in November 2025:

  • STRONG ROOTS: Contemplative Prayer and Practice, with Dr. Jennifer Boyes-Garbin. Starting Nov. 1, Saturdays 10am-1:30pm (ET), hosted via Zoom
  • THE HEART OF THE DEACON: The Vocation of Diaconal Ministry, with Dr. Grayhame Bowcott. Starting Nov. 4, Tuesdays from 8pm-10pm (ET), hosted via Zoom
  • OLD TESTAMENT ODYSSEY: An Introduction to the Hebrew Bible for Preachers and Church Leaders, with Dr. Murray Watson. Starting Nov. 6, Thursdays from 8-10pm (ET), hosted via Zoom
