Bishop Townshend appoints the Reverend Vermell Stevens as the Regional Dean of Oxford, effective 7 December 2025.

 

 

Bishop Townshend appoints the Reverend Allison (“Allie”) McDougall as the Rector of St. Mary’s (Walkerville), Windsor, effective 1 May 2026.

 

 

CONGRATULATIONS

 


Bishop Townshend gives thanks to God for the safe arrival of Winifred Ruth McDougall-Heeny, daughter of the Reverend Allie McDougall and Mr. Davis Whittington-Heeney and a sister to Margot, on 2 December 2025.

RETIREMENT

Bishop Townshend has accepted the request of the Reverend Glenda Fisher to retire from her ministry as deacon with special responsibilities for outreach ministry at St. Matthew’s, Windsor, effective 28 December 2025.

After many years of service as a Clinical Social Worker in Windsor, Glenda was ordained to the diaconate on 28 November 2013. She began her outreach ministry at All Saint’s, Windsor, before moving to St. Matthew’s in 2018. Glenda has been a member of the Diocesan Safe Church Committee as well as of the College of Deacons.

We thank God for Glenda’s ministry and wish her well in retirement.

 

INDUCTION

On behalf of Bishop Townshend, the Venerable Matthew Kieswetter will induct the Reverend Tom Stradwick as the Rector of St. John’s, Tillsonburg, on Sunday,  11 January 2026 at 4:00 p.m.

The preacher will be the Reverend Canon Diane McIlroy. Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being white. Refreshments will follow.

 

NEW PARISH

 

Bishop Townshend has approved a name for the new parish in Sarnia, following the vote at their vestry meeting last Sunday. Please welcome St. Michael and All Angels, Sarnia, to the diocesan family!

 

COMMISSARY

 

Archdeacon Tanya Phibbs will be Commissary for Bishop Townshend from 5 - 12 December 2025 while he is attending a meeting of The Inter-Anglican Standing Commission on Unity, Faith and Order (IASCUFO) in Rome.
