What is the Huron Hunger Fund?

The Huron Hunger Fund Committee (HHF) is given the responsibility in the Diocese of Huron to raise awareness, to provide education and to raise funds for the ongoing work of the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) www.pwrdf.org .

PWRDF is the ministry of Canadian Anglicans engaging in development work, responding to emergencies, protecting refugees and educating and advocating for change.

in Canada and overseas
to share in the creation
of a more just and peaceful world”.

Through individual donations, the annual Bishop’s Fall Appeal, a Huron Hunger Fund Sunday in May and the generosity and energy of artists such as the Three Cantors (www.3cantors.com) and Angus Sinclair, Rachel Snow and Marque Smith, the Diocese of Huron has been a leader in the Canadian Church in contributing to this work.

Of the funds raised by Huron Hunger Fund, 25% is set aside for emergency relief. In the event of an emergency PWRDF will also forward 100% of all designated donations directly to the affected area through Action of Churches Together (ACT).  Countries recently receiving emergency funds:
