CLERICAL CHAPTER (Canon 30)

1. To preside at meetings of the Clerical Chapter.

2. To foster, through the Clerical Chapter, mutual concern and encouragement of its members.

3. To be available as a consultant on behalf of the personal needs of the clergy within the deanery, in an advisory and intermediary capacity to the Diocese.

4. To encourage the recognition of non-stipendiary and other licensed clergy residing within the deanery, and to afford them opportunity to share in the fellowship of the Clerical Chapter.

5. To ensure that records of each parish within the deanery are maintained in accordance with the Canons of the Diocese. (See Canon 16)

6. At the request of the Archdeacons:

i) to ensure that every parish church is provided with the necessary and suitable furnishings for the due and reverent administration of the Sacraments and other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church.

ii) to provide for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at least monthly in any pastoral vacancy in the Deanery.
