For Active Clergy  (Canon 9, paragraph 6)

1. When appointments or exchanges are made under this Canon, the moving costs of a member of Clergy from one Parish to another shall be borne by the Parish to which the new appointment is made.

2. Two or more estimates should be obtained.  (Consultation with the Director, Human Resources may be helpful, if required.)

3. In cases of severe hardship of moving expenses, application for relief may be made through the Grants & Loans procedure (8-3).

4. It is understood that if a cleric voluntarily leaves the parish prior to having been there three years, the cost of the initial move to the parish will be pro-rated based on months served in the parish.  The cleric is responsible for reimbursing the prorated amount to the parish in this situation.
