To the People of the Anglican Church of Canada
One of my first priorities after my election as Primate was to find a way to engage in a dialogue with members of the church. I wanted to talk to Anglicans across this vast country and to hear from them about the things that are important to them and about what Canadian Anglicans want their church to be.
A few months ago, we began what I believe to be one of the most important communications initiatives that General Synod is currently involved in. The web cast Conversations with the Primate is my attempt, as Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, to involve Anglicans in the pew in the issues of the day that affect them as church goers. The web cast is posted to the General Synod web site (www.anglican.ca) around the middle of the month and can be viewed or downloaded at people’s convenience. In the next segment which will be posted at 10 a.m. on January 19, I address the question "Where is God when natural calamities such as the recent tsunami in south Asia strike?"
It has become apparent to me that many of you have not heard about the web cast or have not watched it, and I want to invite you, personally, to join me in this important dialogue by watching and then telling me what you think.
I believe that Conversations with the Primate can be a significant tool in bridging the divide between the national office and people in the pew. I would like to invite you to the dialogue. After you have seen one or two episodes in which I talk about things that are important to me, I would like you to start telling me about the things that matter to you.

Yours faithfully,

The Most Reverend Andrew S. Hutchison
Archbishop and Primate
