Appointment, this the first Sunday in Advent   December 2nd

1. Effective January 1 2008, the Ven. Dr. Jawn Kolohon is appointed to the transitional ministry position at St. George’s, Owen Sound.

2. The Rev’d Rob Doerr has written the bishop to indicate he has resigned as rector of Trinity, St. Thomas (effective November 30).  Rob is a priest in good standing, on leave with the Diocese of Huron. 

3. Elizabeth White, Resource Assistant for Huron Church House, has announced her retirement effective May 31 2008.  Elizabeth began working at Huron Church House in 1999 as secretary to the ACW.  She then moved on to hold positions in the Bishops’ Office followed by her current position as Resource Assistant.   We give thanks for her ministry and extend blessings to her. 

4. At a recent Provincial Executive Council meeting, Dean Terry Dance was elected Chair of the Provincial Task Force on the Environment.  Josh Houle, Provincial Youth Representative, and from Huron, is a member of the committee.

5. The service of collation for The Ven.Dr. Tim Connor as Archdeacon of Middlesex  will take place on Thursday the 6th of December, 2007 at 7 p.m. at St. George’s, London.  Clergy are welcome to vest the colour being white. 

6. The Rev’d Canon Kim Van Allen will be inducted as Rector of All Saints’, Windsor on Monday December 10 at 7 p.m.  (All Saints’:  330 City Hall Square, Windsor).   Archdeacon. Jim Dugan will be the preacher with Bishop Bob Bennett presiding.  A reception will follow.  Clergy are welcome to vest the colour being white.

7. The Rev’d Canon Jane Humphreys is appointed Archdeacon of Essex, effective the first of January 2008.   The service of collation will take place on Monday, the 14th of January, 2008 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Walkerville, Windsor.   Clergy are welcome to vest the colour being white

Dec 11th

Appointments and announcements this being Advent 2, Sunday December 9th:

1.  The Rev’d Willi Kammerer is appointed Director, Human Resources and Canon Registrar for the Diocese of Huron effective February 1st.   Willi is currently the rector of St. John the Evangelist, Strathroy and St. Ann’s, Adelaide and Regional Dean of Medway.  Prior to being ordained, he worked in the secular world for over twenty years in the Human Resources field.   We welcome his gifts in this area and look forward to his new ministry with the diocese.  

2. The Rev’d Christine Young, currently Associate Priest at the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul, is appointed rector of St. Alban the Martyr, London effective the fifteenth of January.

Dec 16th


The following appointment is announced this being Advent 3; Sunday December 16 (and a wintry one at that!)

Brad Dunbar is appointed lay pastor of Trivitt Memorial, Exeter and St. John-by-the-Lake, Grand Bend and with oversight for St. Patrick's Saintsbury effective the 15th of January 2008. A date for ordination will follow. At that time he will be appointed Deacon in Charge.

Dec 23rd


The following appointments are announced this being Advent 4, Sunday, December 23:

1. Karine Farmer is appointed lay pastor to The Parish of the Holy Spirit (St. Paul’s, Clinton, St. Thomas, Seaforth and Trinity, Mitchell). This appointment is effective the first of February 2008. A date for ordination will follow.

2. H.E. (Ted) Winter will be ordained a deacon (non stipendiary) with special responsibilities for outreach ministry, St. James’, Ingersoll. The ordination will take place on Thursday, January 31 at 7 p.m. at St. James’, Ingersoll. All are welcome. Clergy are welcome to vest the colour being red.

3. Pastor Brad Mittleholtz, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Wiarton, is appointed Interim for the Parish of the Bruce in a new ministry relationship with the Lutheran and Anglican folk of the Bruce. This appointment is effective the first of January 2008.
